At the Law Office of J. Michael Springmann PLLC, clients' cases are handled by me, attorney J. Michael Springmann. I am a veteran of 20 years in the United States Federal Government including the Foreign Service, where I supervised the issuance of visas from many countries, including Germany and Saudi Arabia, practices immigration, family and criminal defense law in Washington, DC. A member of the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia bars, I work with clients in metropolitan District of Columbia, Prince George's and Montgomery counties and in Arlington, Alexandria and Fairfax counties. My immigration practice covers a range of immigration issues, but focuses primarily on business and family matters. I have handled inter-company transfers of foreign nationals to the United States. I have also helped set up American subsidiaries of foreign companies. In the past, I have worked with the federal government, the Internal Revenue Service and state and local governments to help foreign nationals set up businesses in the United States. I have represented clients in deportation proceedings. I am proud of the fact that I have worked and volunteered extensively with the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and recently received that organization's Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award.
I also conduct a thriving family law practice. He has substantial experience representing parties in divorce proceedings. He understands the emotional components of visitation and custody. He has worked with individuals to enforce and modify child support arrangements.
In addition, I have experience in criminal misdemeanor representation, including traffic violations and DUI/DWI. He has also defended individuals charged with violating civil protection orders.
Other areas where I, attorney Springmann, can counsel you include employment issues and landlord-tenant disputes. He will represent you if you have been discriminated against at work or if you have been wrongfully terminated. I will be your advocate if you have been harassed by a co-worker. I can also help if your landlord has violated your rights or if your tenant has failed to meet their contractual obligations.
